Powder Coating Guns
Wagner is one of the leading international manufacturers of coating technology for the finishing of surfaces.
With over seven decades of experience in the powder spray system industry, Wagner prides itself on its innovation for industries, contractors, and do-it-yourself enthusiasts.
Manual Gun PEM-X1
The PEM-X1 is a robust, yet extremely light-weight powder gun that is ergonomically designed to prevent fatigue while working. The integrated remote control allows you to quickly change the powder quantity, while a double click on the trigger allows for a quick change to a special recipe. Even factory-set recipes can be assigned individual parameters.

The integrated, high-power cascade keeps the high voltage stable even at 100 kV, enabling high coating performance. With the cascade characteristic curve adjustment, even powder coatings that are difficult to charge can be coated efficiently. The integrated cascade cooling ensures a long service life and durable performance. The replaceable protective wedge in the electrode holder reduces the cost of wearing parts.

Powder Coating Systems
Knowing which powder coating system is crucial in having the most efficient and best looking result.
Depending on the application of the powder coating, the difference between a cup feeding powder unit, manual box feed unit, and manual hopper feed unit is easily explained below.
SPRINTX Manual Box Feed Unit
A box-fed powder coating gun draws the powder directly from the carton, and feeds the powder coating straight into the gun. A platform holds the powder box at an angle on a stand below the gun’s controls, and a powder hose is then inserted into the powder in the box. The powder hose hangs vertically and usually has a small amount of compressed air delivered to the tip area to break up any compacted or clumpy powder. This helps assure uniform powder flow. The tube routes the powder up to the powder pump, which sends the powder to the gun itself.

During operation, the platform that the carton of powder sits on constantly vibrates. This vibration causes the powder to shift around inside the box. The powder in the box moves constantly and replaces the powder that is being pulled up the tube. Without constant vibration, the powder would be supplied in surges, which would create problems during application and degrade the finish.

SPRINTX Manual Hopper Feed Unit
A hopper-fed powder coating gun holds the powder in a sealed container that has a perforated plastic membrane on the bottom. This membrane has tiny holes in it that allow compressed air to enter the container and constantly fluff the powder so that it flows around inside the hopper, in a process called fluidization.

The compressed air supply to the hopper should be adjusted so that powder isn’t wasted due to excessive agitation/over-pressurization of the container. While some powders require a small amount of venting, you should adjust your system for minimal powder loss, especially if you are reclaiming the powder as an on-going process.
